[pygtk] Execute a function once as the main loop begins

Hi all,
i need a function to be runned only once before all the rest gets up and running. In C it'd be gtk_init_add(...), but i noticed that a gtk.init_add() method doesn't exist in pygtk. So, has anyone an idea on how to achieve this?
