It was a bit of a screwup.

pygtk 2.8.3:
for GNOME 2.12, wait for next release
for GNOME 2.14, package and depend on pygobject 2.9.0

pygobject 2.9.0:
package for GNOME 2.14

pygobject 2.8.0:
ignore

I'll shortly release pygtk 2.8.4 which can be built for GNOME 2.12 and
a pygobject 2.9.1 which depends on gobject 2.9.0 and introduces new 
features.

pygtk 2.8.4+ will use pygobject if 2.9 or later is found, otherwise 
it'll build gobject on its own.
