Hi all,
I have recently been working on porting the GUI for the ASCEND modelling
environment to PyGTK. I have something that works reasonably well under
Linux, so in the last couple of days I have started to work on getting
it to run on Windows. Whenever I try to used grahical capabilities under
Windows, my program crashes.
In particular, I use matplotlib code to produce a 'spy' plot (incidence
matrix, modified to use a custom colour map). I use matplotlib as well
to perform x-y plots. Then I use some of the low-level like
gtk.gdk.pixbuf_new_from_data to produce partial incidence matrixes that
are more interactive than the ones provided by matplotlib. The types of
things I'm doing are shown here:

First of all, what is the most stable windows installer for PyGTK and
GTK+ on Windows? My project uses libglade, so I have concluded that I
must use the downloads from the gladewin project, at
http://gladewin32.sourceforge.net/. Is that what other people have found?
Has anyone out there found that their graphical PyGTK application
crashes with one version of GTK+ but not with others?
The full details of my setup on Windows are here:

Would appreciate any tips or suggestions!
Cheers
JP
