[pygtk] how to install pyGTK

hi i am new to python. i am consulting a book under wrox publication (beginning python) and just reached to a chapter on python GUI. now i am not able to install the graphic tool kit pyGTK from the site mentioned in the book. it is not like the regular installation i do on windows.
  can u please tell me the step by step procedure to do it right from the begining including the support software. i will be thankful. i am planning to make the game of chess on python which i will present in my collage. 
  o/s used windows XP home
