[pygtk] gtk.textview size

Hello,
I've got a palm and I want to create a application that enables me to paste
a selection to a textview which I can send to the palm as a memo after that.
The thing I'm unable to accomplish is to set a maximum to the length of
sentences and to the number of lines. I want to set these because of the
restrictions of a memo.
Could somebody please help me how to do this, or send me to a place where I
can find how to do this?
