Hi

I definitely agree with a compatibility layer, or a solution for the
transition time.

If the update is "brutal", it could be quite awful to see our applications
incompatible with the new API...

As I'm new in pygtk, and I may not be alone, a too strong change should
disturb a lot of people.

Hopefully we'll know more about that with a reasonable time before the
update.
