I was afraid that someone would ask this question. I haven't used kiwi, so
I cannot respond authoritatively. I did read the documentation when I was
deciding between kiwi and pygtkmvc. I made two observations:
1. pygtkmvc is amazingly compact. It is so compact that I can easily
include it in my package to avoid introducing another dependency. Its
compactness also makes it easy to digest the code if you need to understand
better how it works.
2. kiwi offers some capabilities that pygtkmvc does not (e.g., proxies, a
pickled model). However, it was not clear to me that I needed those
capabilities. What I like about pygtkmvc is that it does one thing -- it
provides a framework for MVC-style programming -- and it does that in a way
that is simple to use and elegant. Its simplicity makes it easy to get up
to speed quickly.
Someone with direct experience using both packages would be better qualified
to compare them. I can only tell you what I like about pygktmvc.
