I don't have any pointer for pygtk+mysql but, depending on what you have to do
with the database, you may find this interesting:

It's a package that already provides very customizable widgets to edit
databasse and is based on sqlalchemy, that is a layer that takes care to
talk to the database and really talks to many different backends. Loog at
the rich demo.
