[pygtk] force window to refresh

No, not for me. I'm running it on linux right now, no problems. I can 
however shrink the window down to so it only shows the first two of the 
three sudoku rows and no buttons.

Since I can't see any obvious problems with the behavior, I didn't read 
all your code very carefully. But something seems to be very fishy with 
your gtk. Try reinstalling. If that fails, maybe some other package on 
your system causes it. Maybe you have several version on your system and 
gtk gets confused.
