Gian Mario, yours are very reasonable concerns, especially in terms of
accessibility. What I can say is that I wish to use a framework that
supports both themes and skins, to make sure the the user can
customize colors, sizes, images and -shapes-, as they wish.

However, due to the aesthetic, immersive nature of the application I'm
working on it is important to be able to change the appearance of the
visual elements of the UI and move away as much as possible from
OS-based look&feel.

Still, although they might have to be designed ad-hoc, I certainly
want to leave the door open to accessible skins and themes.

Thank you though, they are very valid points.
