hi everyone
I am very knew to pygtk, so my apologies if this is evident. (I found an old post asking the same question, but there were no answer back then - http://www.mail-archive.com/pygtk@daa.com.au/msg06384.html).
Coding for GNOME, I would like to get
1- all applications registered to open a given MIME type (just like what
you get if you right-click on a file in Nautilus and choose "open with..")
2- paths to icon(s) for that MIME type. I have been experimenting with pyxdg, but its .getIconPath() method fails to get an icon for iconname="text-plain" on my Ubuntu machine.
I know how to get the *default* app through the command line util xdg-mime, but can do neither of the other two...
any help much appreciated
thanks!
lara
