Company News

Data Analysis Australia had a substantial presence at the Australian Statistical Conference 2008, recently held in Melbourne. Over 300 statisticians attended the conference, representing all areas of government, academia and industry. Over 100 talks were given, covering both theoretical and applied topics.

Particular highlights for Data Analysis Australia included Rian Caccianiga being awarded the EJ Pitman Prize for the best presentation by a young statistician and John Henstridge receiving a Service Award for his contributions, over many years, to the Statistical Society of Australia.

Data Analysis Australia is looking forward to welcoming back Dr Linda Eaton, who will be returning from maternity leave on the 22^nd of July.  Taryn Major will also be joining us soon as a Consultant Statistician.  Taryn has several years’ experience working as an Engineer and has recently completed a Master of Applied Statistics to pursue a career as a Statistician.

We recently farewelled Rhiannon Marchant, who has left Data Analysis Australia after spending nearly three years with us as a Consultant Statistician.  We wish her all the best in her new position and thank her for her substantial contribution to the company during her time here.
