DAA at the Alcoa Environmental Symposium

In May, consultants Dr Fiona Evans and Trent Piccicacco were invited to speak at the Alcoa Environmental Research Symposium at Murdoch University. They discussed two recent projects conducted with Alcoa surrounding turbidity research in the Huntley region of Western Australia.

Fiona presented findings of a project which involved statistically modelling the relationship between high turbidity events and surrounding catchment characteristics. This project involved an in-depth data cleaning phase, where turbidity monitor data was algorithmically cleaned and verified by field experts. Whilst Trent spoke about identifying possible impacts of mining on turbidity through a geospatial hydrological analysis.

Thanks Alcoa and Lucy Commander for the invitation! This can also be found on our LinkedIn post.
