On Tuesday the 23rd of June, a webinar was recorded by the Statistical Society of Australia โ€“ The Personal Journey of Geoff Yeo and was hosted at Data Analysis Australia ๐Ÿข

This webinar documented the life and career journey of Geoff Yeo, whose career took him all around the world. Geoff then worked in England at the The University of Sheffield (1965-66, 1968) and in Denmark at Aarhus University (1967-68). Geoff then went back to Australia as Senior Lecturer in Statistics at the University of Melbourne (1969-76), then back to Denmark and the Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark (1976-89). Geoff then spent 15 years at Murdoch University in the Mathematics and Statistic department (1988-2003), before ending his career into an Honorary Position at the UWA (2003-2010). An expert in Markov Chains, Queuing Theory and Statistical Modelling, Geoff performed impactful early research into the statistical properties of Ion Channels ๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿงฌ๐Ÿงช

This was one of many webinars recorded documenting the life and career journey of elderly Australian statisticians, which have been organised by the Early Career and Student Statisticians Network in conjunction with the Historic Standing Committee of the SSA. Thank you to Dennis Trewin and Daniela Vasco for assisting in organising the recording โญ
